These policies outline what clients can expect during their project and help ensure a smooth, professional experience from start to finish.

1. Scope of Work

All work will be completed according to the written estimate you approve. Only items listed in the approved estimate are included. Any additional work requires a written change order.

2. Standard Preparation

Preparation may include light sanding, minor patching, caulking, spot-priming, and cleaning the surfaces as needed.

Extensive repairs (rotting wood, large drywall repairs, heavy peeling, stain blocking, texture correction, etc.) may require additional charges or a revised scope.

3. Materials

Spruce Point Painting provides all labor and standard materials unless your estimate states otherwise. We use premium products chosen for durability and long-term performance.

4. Client Responsibilities

To ensure a safe and efficient work environment, clients agree to:

• Provide clear access to work areas

• Remove fragile or valuable items

• Secure pets and children

• Provide timely color selections

• Ensure surfaces and rooms are ready for work to begin

5. Weather Conditions (Exterior Work)

Exterior painting is weather dependent. We may reschedule work during unsuitable conditions (rain, humidity, wind, temperature) to ensure proper product performance and safety.

6. Change Orders

Changes to scope, colors, or materials must be approved in writing. Adjustments may affect pricing or project timelines.

7. Payment Terms

• 40 percent deposit to schedule and secure materials

• 30 percent progress payment at the project midpoint

• 30 percent due upon completion and walkthrough

Final payment is required upon completion. Deposits become non-refundable once materials are purchased and scheduling is confirmed.

8. Warranty

Spruce Point Painting offers a limited workmanship warranty. This covers issues such as peeling or blistering caused by improper prep or application.

The warranty does not cover:

• Substrate failure or rotting wood

• Moisture problems, water intrusion, or leaks

• Stains, fading, or natural weathering

• Damage caused by other trades, pets, or household activity

• Hidden or pre-existing structural issues

Warranty claims must be submitted with photos for review.

9. Subcontractors

We may use qualified subcontractors when appropriate, but Spruce Point Painting remains fully responsible for project quality and final results.

10. Jobsite Conditions & Safety

Work may be delayed if conditions are unsafe or the work area is obstructed. Additional charges may apply if excessive clearing or prep beyond the agreed-upon scope is required.

11. Lead & Hazardous Materials

Homes built before 1978 may require EPA lead-safe procedures. If hazardous materials (mold, asbestos, etc.) are discovered, work pauses until proper remediation is completed.

12. Liability

Spruce Point Painting is fully insured. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, structural defects, moisture issues, or damage caused by other contractors or external conditions.

13. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Cancellations should be made at least seven days before the project start date. Weather delays or unexpected conditions may shift the schedule. Deposits are non-refundable once materials and scheduling are committed.

14. Agreement Acceptance

Approving an estimate in Jobber confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Note: A detailed Service Agreement is included with every estimate and is available in full upon request.
